NOTE: This project has been suspended due to the shooting incidents along 509. We’re working with Burien Police Department to determine when it would be advisable to start back up.
There is a section of Miller Creek in Burien where salmon used to swim. Recently, it’s ben almost completely blocked with garbage, old mattresses, and car parts. We’ve just been given permission by the City of Burien and WSDOT to “adopt” that section of the watershed to clean it up and get those salmon swimming once again.
We’ll start by doing an assessment during our “Adopt A Highway #2” event on the 14th of April, 2018.
